We are The Carpet Guys, L.L.C., and we are looking for full and part time Call Center Representatives to supplement our growing operations. Our starting wages are $13-16.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and skills sets. We offer incremental hourly increases and health and other benefits, as well. Bonus programs in place based on monthly performance will bring your pay to the next level!


Our representatives have a positive and winning attitude and take calls from homeowners looking for assistance in flooring purchases. They may also assist our field personnel with administrative tasks and support visitors to our showroom.


Now. We need seasoned representatives who have open availability and can work a combination of days, evenings and weekends.


We’re local, based in Troy, and servicing the metropolitan Detroit area.


We are growing. Our new associates will learn a niche market and industry. If you are eager to grow, gain business and administrative experience, acquire a unique skill set, like recognition and opportunity and want a job that makes a difference, we want you.


We will give first priority to candidates who have any or all of the following:

  • Previous experience working in an inbound call center.
  • Previous experience in direct-to-consumer sales/sales support.
  • An administrative background with heavy telephone contact.


To be considered for employment, ALL CANDIDATES MUST …

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, with reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Be able to pass a monitored, pre-employment drug screen.
  • Be able to physically lift ten (10) pounds regularly and move items of various weights and sizes.
  • Have open availability to work varied hours. Our showroom and call center are open for business Monday through Friday, 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.


  • Proficiency (preferably in both) the Google Office Suite and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • The ability to learn and master industry-specific software.
  • Multi-tasking proficiency and time management skills (WE ARE BUSY!).
  • Effective listening, verbal and written communications ability. (Our staffers need to be confident in using technical terminology as well as “layman’s English”.)
  • Strong ethics, high integrity and a commitment to putting the homeowner first.
  • A pleasant and friendly phone voice.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Geographic knowledge of the metropolitan Detroit area.
  • Dependability and an earnest work ethic, able to put in more than the “regular 9.00 to 5.00”.
  • A client/”street ready” appearance.
  • A customer service/problem-solving mentality.

“Nice-to-have”s include:

  • Previous experience working with independent contractors.
  • Some college coursework.
  • Bilingual ability, particularly in Spanish or Arabic.
